I would like to welcome you all to my Istanbul Blog. My mission is to introduce my amazing city to all those travel lovers who are dreaming of or planning to visit our city of mysteries.
Istanbul is no ordinary city. It is a city impossible to categorise! It is neither east nor west. It is neither fully oriental nor occidental. Its richness of aromas, tastes, sounds and sights still keep on fascinating me although I have been living in Istanbul for a lifetime.
It is not like any European city. It does not reveal its secrets openly. It is a beauty in disguise. A secret gem that needs to be discovered beyond veils. A city unlike any other due to its capriciousness, its ever changing colours, its dramatic polarities, its eclectic coexistence, its subtleties, its multifaceted past, its longings and forgotten memories. I am here to take you on a tour of sights, sounds, aromas and tastes. I volunteer to be your virtual guide and local friend. I promise to show you the depths, heights and beauties of this hidden gem I call home. I only want to share the most elegant and the most unique in this eternal city derived from my own experiences as the local of Istanbul.
