Tangueros de Estambul

Tangueros de Estambul (also known as TangEsta) founded by Ortaç Aydınoğlu is a contemporary tango orchestra based in Istanbul that brings the authentic spirit of Argentine tango to life.

Founded in Istanbul in 2012, TangEsta is known for its devotion to the Golden Age repertoire of Argentine tango, as well as to works composed by Turkish artists such as Necip Celal Andel, the founder of the Turkish tango tradition.

Tribute to the great master Necip Celal Andel

Note that no other musical tradition could resonate deeply with Istanbul’s melancholic beauty, its intensity, and its quiet longing.

TangEsta is both a homage to tango’s origins and a contemporary expression of Istanbul’s living, breathing tango culture.

Nostalgic and present, TangEsta invites the listener into a space where geography dissolves and emotion takes the lead. Make sure to check out their latest album Tangos de Estambul released in 2024 to pay respect to the tango tradition in this majestic city!

The following piece you will listen from the Album is the first recorded Turkish tango composed in 1928 by the great master Necip Celal Andel.
