If you ever wonder how it feels to entertain in the Turkish style, check out 45lik Bars across Istanbul in Beyoğlu or Kadiköy where people laugh and cry and dance to old and nostalgic Turkish songs from 1960s till today.

I am especially fascinated by the ambiance of 45lik Bars with its nostalgic posters showing old Turkish love movies and pop stars and its music that transports one to a time and place when love was naive, when lovers were unattainable and ideal, where women were idols and men had chivalry.
When and where love was not easy, and was full of longing and grief—that was once upon a time, when people believed in eternal love. Unlike today, when desire has replaced love, urgency has replaced longing, anonymity has replaced “the one and only,” and “more is less,” leaving souls less satisfied than ever before.

45’lik is for those who still believe in Endless Love, not Sex and the City.
