Prices in Istanbul has skyrocketed after the economic crisis that hit most locals like a thunderstorm. Restaurants in Istanbul are no exception to the increasing prices in the city. But the irony is that although prices are increasing, the quality of food and service is declining even in most premium spots .

Divan Brasserie Fuaye is the exception to the norm. Like a breath of fresh air, it brings the quality of Divan to a completely new level. It has opened inside the newly constructed Ataturk Cultural Center which has once again been the heart of culture and arts in the city. AKM (Ataturk Cultural Center) was the icon of culture in Istanbul for decades and we were so sad to see it ‘gone’. But, it is with us again with full force.

Divan Fuaye has an interior decoration that beautifully fits into the spirit of AKM with high ceilings, elegant but minimalist furniture, unique pieces of arts from Turkish artists and a beautiful terrace that overlooks the Bosphorus, Taskışla (The Military Barracks from the Ottoman Empire which currently belongs to Istanbul Technical University Architecture Department) and Ataturk Library.

If you are looking for a quiet refuge from the chaos of Taksim square, Divan Fuaye is a wonderful choice. I am especially fond of its service quality unlike many spots in Istanbul where we are losing the quality of good manners and a genuine kindness. The food is superb. You can taste more local tastes along with more international dishes. Definitely try its unique cocktails bringing together contrasting tastes. And leave the world behind on the terrace overlooking one of the most beautiful sceneries in the world!
