The internationally renowned Béjart Ballet Lausanne, founded in 1987 by the legendary French choreographer Maurice Béjart, is returning to Istanbul from 20–22 February 2026, performing at Zorlu PSM. This eagerly anticipated visit continues the company’s long-standing connection with Turkish audiences, offering a rare opportunity to experience world-class ballet in the heart of the city.
For this program, Béjart Ballet Lausanne will present a three-part evening blending cherished masterpieces with contemporary creativity. Audiences will see Firebird, a fiery reimagining of Stravinsky’s iconic score; the hypnotic and powerful Boléro; and Oskar, a brand-new work created specifically for the company, making its Istanbul debut. This mix of beloved repertory and new artistic voices reflects the company’s mission to honor Maurice Béjart’s legacy while pushing the boundaries of contemporary dance.
Bejart Ballet Lausanne has visited Istanbul several times in the past, building strong ties with local audiences. In March 2025, the company performed Ballet For Life at the Volkswagen Arena, marking the piece’s first performances in Türkiye with music by Queen and Mozart and striking costumes by Gianni Versace. Earlier, in June 2007, the company appeared at the Atatürk Cultural Center with specially created works, and in 1988, Béjart’s troupe performed as part of the Istanbul International Music Festival, establishing the beginning of its enduring presence in the city.
