Zeynep Tosun is a Turkish fashion designer celebrated for merging Anatolian craftsmanship with contemporary fashion. After studying at Istituto di Marangoni in Milan and working with Alberta Ferretti, she returned to Istanbul to launch her own label in 2008.
Her collections highlight traditional embroidery, motifs, and textiles, reinterpreted through modern silhouettes. Many of her collections make strong use of traditional craftsmanship—such as handwork, intricate embroidery, and local textile traditions. She often draws from Turkish and Anatolian heritage—recent collections revisit stories, motifs, and crafts from regions like Kars, bringing them into modern, wearable pieces. Tosun has shown a tendency to merge elements of couture (luxurious fabrics, structure, ornamentation) with streetwear influences, creating garments that can be worn in everyday settings as well as in more formal ones.
I personally think that her 2021 Collection, having drawn its aspiration from the Amazon women of Anatolia is amazing. The photos of the Collection you will see below were taken in Ephesus, the legendery Greek city that still lives in our imaginations.
Tosun has presented at Istanbul and London Fashion Weeks, and her work has been featured in Vogue and worn by stars like Lady Gaga and Kate Hudson. With her unique designs, Zeynep Tosun has become one of Turkey’s most influential voices in global fashion.
