Casa Foscolo Hotel
Istanbul is full of serendipities. Today, on my way to Pera Palace, I decided to take a side way rather than the main street and I noticed a beautifully renovated building which said Casa Foscolo on it. Having noticed the building and the nameplate for the first time, I popped in the building to discover it.
And I discovered that Casa Foscolo is a 134 years old building originally built by an Italian family that left its name and memories. The building was completely renovated and turned into a Marriott Group Hotel called Casa Foscolo Hotel paying respect to its original owners. I met the architect who had completely transformed the interior into a beautiful and modern hotel full of exciting paintings and sculptures of contemporary Turkish artists.
I had a chance to see different corners of the hotel. The rooms are decorated with the comfort of a home. Larger ones are literally decorated as homes with a kitchen, dining area and two bedrooms perfect for families visiting Istanbul or those who are in Istanbul for a business trip. Some rooms have balconies with a view of the Galata tower. The hotel has a roof top for those who want to spend some time overlooking the view of the Golden Horn and the Tünel district.
The hotel has a magical stair case that has preserved its originality. In the entrance floor, there is a beautiful library corner with a rich collection of art and history books for book lovers.
If you want to be in the heart of the historical district in Beyoğlu in walking distance to Galata Tower inside a beautifully decorated hotel that feels more like a home than a hotel, Casa Foscolo is the perfect place for you.
