There is one particular store in Sultanahmet that is a home to a rich collection of textiles, tapestries and jewellery and that is Mehmet Çetinkaya Gallery. It is a delight to visit the Gallery which displays the rich cornucopia of designs driving their inspiration from a mix of ancient and multicultural motifs and patterns and created by a team of weavers, dyers and embroiderers who are using centuries old techniques.
Çetinkaya is a graduate of the Belgian Royal Academy who is fascinated with the heritage of Central Asia, Anatolia and the Caucasus with their rich colours, patterns and motifs. His collection of elegant and exquisite home textiles, caftans, shawls, silk hats made of natural dyes and fabrics and one of a kind jewellery might be what you are looking for. Make sure to visit it when you are in the old town.
