Here is an interesting documentary showing the panorama of İstanbul and İstanbulites in the 1950s and 1960s. The transformation of the city and its inhabitants is remarkable. Although the voice over is in Turkish, glancing through it will give you a sense of how the city and its inhabitants have changed over the decades. I can not stop feeling a deep nostalgia for the city İstanbul once was. This is the city my parents have always talked about but which feels more like a fairly tale than reality to us.
