Adorable and Precocious

Photo of the last Ottoman Princess Neslişah Sultan’s childhood, 1922

Ottoman kids of the elites in the 19th century were treated and dressed like miniature adults. It is amazing to see the costumes these kids wore more than a century ago. Sadberk Hanım Museum has a rich collection of kids clothing from the 19th century made of precious fabrics with elegant and refined details. It is a delight to see the details of these clothes as well as to imagine the time and effort spent for making them.

Glance through these wonderful pieces of garments of elite girls and boys of the 19th century.

This collection was in display in 2024 for an exhibition at the Sadberk Hanım Museum and if you want to see the whole collection, I would recommend you to purchase the book and to keep it in your collection.
